Child Safety – Overview
PEAK Martial Arts Academy is a small family run martial arts dojo. We try to promote Japanese culture as well as teaching martial arts, self-defense and life skills.
- PEAK Martial Arts Academy (PMA) is the main organization name for this business. Other business names are also associated with it due to specializing in certain areas.
- Bujinkan North Brisbane Dojo – This was the original name created and is for the adults and teen classes. It is a Traditional Japanese Martial Art.
- Ninja Kids Academy – This is specifically for the children’s classes and consists of a child safe cut down version of the adult classes syllabus.
Staff Information
All staff and volunteers that are associated with PEAK Martial Arts Academy (and the above names) are registered current Bluecard holders.
- The main instructors hold current First Aid / CPR certification and assistants / volunteers are encouraged to complete First Aid training too.
- The main instructors are subscribed to the MAA – Martial Arts Australia accreditation programme for professional development.
Insurance
Insurance for PMA is provided by MAA – Martial Arts Australia and includes personal injury for the students. MMA also have an accreditation system that the main PMA instructors are enrolled in.
Administration
We are now moving to a dedicated Martial Arts online software application / Phone App to run the academy. It is provided by EFC. This allows us interact with the parents more easily and any interaction with students is through this portal.
Location
The classes are currently run from Pendicup Community Centre, 365 Samsonvale Road, Warner, 4500.
This is a shared Morton Bay Regional Council (MBRC) Community Centre that we have been using for around ten years. All the classes are conducted from this centre at present. Due to the centre having a few rooms for hire we sometimes have to share the centre and its facilities with other groups. This however is occasional.
